At iCanBeADoctor, we see future doctors becoming interested and excited about the practice of medicine when they are between the ages of five and seven years old. Our program creates an early path forward and replaces the old model of waiting for students to spontaneously develop an interest in medicine during high school and university.

Brain Science Model
iCanBeADoctor is a brain-science based awareness and motivation program that draws expertise from the scientifically proven theory of neuroplasticity. Our revolutionary model primes the brain for interest and motivation, then reinforces that process through hands-on experience and fun play. Structured activities transform learning into cognitive-behavioral training (thinking–doing-reflecting) resulting in a more meaningful and impactful experience.
Curriculum
The iCanBeADoctor curriculum was developed using a multistep, ongoing, and cyclical process that involves Need Assessment, Research, Planning, Coordination, Content Development, Pilot Delivery and Revision. The Completed Curriculum Package contains all materials necessary for program implementation, including lesson plans, trainer materials, educational tools, and books.
Tracking and Analytics
iCanBeADoctor’s tracking and analytic feature translates data on motivation and interest levels into meaningful information that can be used to improve the experience and effectiveness of the program. All data is anonymous and retained numerically and statistically without reference to individual children, teachers, or facilitators in the program.
Educational Tools
iCanBeADoctor provides each child with a cost-free playtime medical kit to use while they participate in the program, and to take home and keep for subsequent play with friends. Each kit contains a toy stethoscope, toy syringe, toy bandage, toy reflex hammer, toy thermometer and a playtime ID badge.
iCanBeADoctor Book Series
The iCanBeADoctor book series introduces children to the doctor-related adventures of Manny, Mickey and Ashton, who want to become doctors when they grow up. The book series familiarizes children with medical vocabulary and encourages them to reflect upon what it would be like to be a doctor.
Global Applications
iCanBeADoctor’s program is designed for scalability and a high degree of flexibility. The program can accommodate an unlimited number of participants and organizations and its curriculum can be adapted to generate interest and excitement as young children grow into different developmental and academic stages. Every subsequent phase of the program reinforces the successes of the previous one.
